Hospital stay take 2

So here we are again, back in the hospital. Liam was not improving this weekend and we took him back in today. He has continued with a fever, coughing, wheezing, etc. The neb treatments were helping but he was just so lethargic lately. I am so tired of going back to the pediatricians office. It is almost embarrasing at this point. I know that the people who work there are probably thinking, 'she's a nurse, why can't she take care of her kid at home'. But I kept having that feeling that something wasn't right and it wasn't. While in the peds office Liam started having some blue coloring around his mouth (circumoral cyanosis), another sign of low oxygen and sure enough his saturation was 82%. We did a neb treatment in the office and it only came up to 84%. So here we are again. His chest xray looks the same as the last visit - probable viral pneumonia. He has exhibited the exact same pattern as last time. He also has double ear infections. Poor guy! He really has been through a lot and is handling it all so well - his mommy not so much. It is so hard watching him go through this and wondering why again so soon. Was he ever really better...who knows. At least this time he is still drinking and is without an IV. We will probably be here for a few days and will probably follow up with a pulmonologist in the future. Jared, his dad, and our two brother-in-laws came to the hospital to give him a blessing. How thankful I am for all of them to be able to give him a priesthood blessing. He is one lucky little guy that is so loved. Please keep praying for him, we'll keep you posted.

Oh my gosh Melanie! I am so so sorry to hear all this. It breaks my heart to hear this sweet little boy (and all of you too) dealing with so much lately. It never seems fair when kids get sick. I pray he gets better soon and stays better! Keep us updated. Love to you all.

Liam's first time on River Rampage - he got drenched but loved every minute of it! Doesn't he look so small! We wanted to do one last fun summer trip for the boys before school starts this Thursday. We took a day trip to Dollywood. We got there a little after the park opened and it was not very crowded at all. We walked on almost every ride and if we had to wait it wasn't longer than a few minutes. Last time we were there in May Adley was just shy of being able to ride all the big rides. We learned about a place where they will measure you and give you an armband that has the appropriate color that corresponds with your height category. This way you are measured once and simply just have to show your armband to get on the ride. Adley was thrilled that he was tall enough this time to ride any ride in the park. Man do I love this little boy! He is full of squeals, smiles, slobbers, hugs, crumbs and dirt. He is at such a fun age. Liam says a lot through the faces he makes because he is quite stubborn and shy and still not wanting to talk much. He says a hand full of words, shakes his head yes and no and is starting to make different sounds. He is making progress so I am not too worried anymore. And if you haven't heard or noticed....no more pacifier....Yay! Liam is growing up so fast but is still my most snugly baby. He loves to rock in the chair before nap and bed and when he gets up in the morning he often times runs to my room to crawl in bed with me for more snuggles. I just love it! My baby - at least for another 3 weeks

Liam is almost 1 and has finally learned to clap!!! I have been trying to teach him how to do this for the last several months, but he would just look at me and smile. Recently we were hit with another snow storm, this time we got about 8-10 inches (this has been my least favorite winter so far living here). The storm came Thursday while I was working and I ended up having to stay the night at the hospital. I had prepared well and packed a bag knowing the storm was coming and I had to work Friday too. So during my 2 day stay at the hospital is when Liam finally decided to share his talent...along with Adley loosing another tooth (geez, I missed everything). I couldn't believe he picked that day to finally share with everyone but ME what I had been trying to teach him. I was excited but totally bummed at the same time because I had missed it.
