Beach Trip

Image
We went to Wilmington, NC last weekend. We had a blast. The kids loved the sun, sand and water. Liam liked the sand a little too much. The first day he kept eating it by the handfuls - yuck! Eli finally warmed up to the water on the second day and we couldn't get Aidan and Adley out of the waves. Funny since neither of them can really swim - we are working on that though. My new favorite picture of Liam! Eli playing in the sand Exhausted We always take a family picture at the end of the pier. Our walk on the pier was more exciting this year. We saw a lot of jelly fish in the water, saw someone catch and release a sting ray (I saw one up close as I was boogie boarding too!), and saw someone catch a baby shark (the kids got to touch it before they released it). The kids always enjoy the pelicans too. We headed to the aquarium. It is really small but it keeps the kids intrigued and is only $6 for admission instead of $30. This year we got to see an albino alligator. The guy

Stella Kristin

My sister had her beautiful baby girl yesterday at 9:12am (AZ time). She weighed 8lbs 0.3oz, 20.25 in long. She was 11 days early. She looks exactly like her older brother Weston. I wish I could have been there but at least I'll be there in August. Andrea & Stella are both doing great. They should be heading home today. Here are some pictures of baby Stella (don't you just love her name)...

Pisgah Forest

Last week we took the missionaries and the kids up the mountain to an Inn there for breakfast. It is kind of a tradition that we started. The view was beautiful! Also Aidan finished up his soccer season - he loved it and will begin again in the fall - this time Adley will be old enough to play.

Baby Goats

I neglected to post our visit to see some baby goats with my friend from work and her kids back in May. We had a small hike up to the farm, played with the goats and had a picnic. The kids love seeing the 'kids'. Caroline looking at the goat. The only girl....I mess up the odds with having 4 boys. The boys The goat field...I wasn't about to go out there - all I could think about were snakes in that long grass. Yes I know I'm a pansy and I am perfectly fine with that!

OUCH!

Recently Jared and I have been trying to get back in shape, you know work out, run, swim, bike...all the stuff we forgot how to do when we had kids. We decided it was time - we have set some goals to help us on our journey. We will be running a 5K in July, Jared wants to do a triathlon in August and I am contemplating a 10K in September. So yesterday after working 12hrs I got home around 8pm and decided to finish putting the kids to bed so Jared could go on a bike ride. Off he went....only down and around the corner and then he wrecked on his road bike. I saw him walking up the driveway carrying his bike. He had only been gone 5 minutes. I ran to the garage and knew something was wrong. His face was bloody, clothes torn and he had some good road rash. He did fine going down our hill but hit a wash board patch in the pavement going too fast and his front tire quickly came out from under him going into another turn and he landed on his face, well his chin. His visor on his helm

A Day Trip

This entry is a little late - it's from the beginning of May. I have been really busy as of late so I lost track of posting our trip. We took the kids to Dollywood again. They love that place and so do I...we always have so much fun and it's just an easy trip for us. I was a little restricted this go around with being on my diet and having to resist all the yummy food...but it was worth it. The diet is over and I am down 12.5lbs, only 1.5lbs away from when Jared & I got married. Yay!!! Okay on to the trip. They opened up a new attraction called "Adventure Mountain" this year. We couldn't go the first time we went this year because we didn't have on closed toed shoes but we planned better this time and everyone but the little boys were able to try it out. I took the big boys up first and then Jared did too. Just looking at it from the ground I thought it would be no big deal, but I did have some trouble with the heights at first. I got more dari
