4 months

Liam is now 4 mos old. He is such a fun little boy - he smiles, he giggles, he rolls over now, he sits in his Bumbo chair, he holds toys and he makes A LOT of noises. We love him!!!! He hasn't had his 4 mo checkup yet, but I did weigh him the other day when I was at work. He weighs 15lbs 13oz with clothes on. He is right up there with how much the other boys weighed at this age - although Aidan takes the prize at 17lbs 11oz at 4mos. Liam is still struggling with some skin issues - most currently around his mouth - probably associated with the moisture of his pacifier - but he is not ready to give that up, and I'm not ready for him to give it up either. So we have some medicine to help it. His chubby cheeks though are now soft and smooth. Liam is also very tolerant - he puts up with the many face to face conversations that Eli likes to have with him, and the loud noise of our house - this baby can sleep through a lot. Here are some recent pictures and a video of him roll

Summer

Image
Today was the last day of school for Aidan. One year down only 12 more to go! I told him I was so excited for him to be a 1st grader. He replied, "I'm not anything right now, it is summer." I am not sure how I feel about it being summer time already. This means that for the next 75 days in a row (not that I'm counting or anything) there will be 4 kids at home everyday. Not that I don't love my children, but the big boys are always easier to handle when they are by themselves - when they are together it is constant noise, rough housing and competition. I am not sure I have the energy to keep up with this all summer long, not to mention the constant entertainment they are going to request. I have a few ideas (swimming lessons, library, zoo, nature center, fish hatchery) but that might get me through a few weeks. I am open for suggestion or ideas. I'll let you know how I am doing in a month or so. Tomorrow is my big shopping trip - it proved to be a bad i

Adley's prayer

Last night Adley said the prayer before bed. In the middle of the prayer he stopped and said: "Just a minute I need to ask Aidan a question - Aidan are you going on a field trip tomorrow?"(Aidan has had 2 field trips in the past week, but has field day tomorrow) I told him that Aidan wasn't going on a field trip but had field day at his school. He then continued on with his prayer - blessing that Aidan would have a good field day at school tomorrow. Glad he is thinking about what everyone is doing the next day so he can bless them in his prayers - even if it means he has to ask them what they are doing right in the middle of the prayer!

Primary talk & Legos

Two Sunday's ago Aidan (or I should say Jared & I) were given the assignment to prepare a talk on baptism. Aidan has never given a talk in primary and it took a couple of years for him to be willing to give the scripture. So we prepared the talk and had Aidan practice at home. He can read really well and did a good job practicing. About an hour before he was supposed to give his talk he started crying saying he was nervous and that he didn't want to do it. We try to console him and tell him he will be fine. He claims he still won't do it. Now I am not a big fan of giving a talk in church but if any of you have heard any stories about Jared as a child then you know that I can totally blame Aidan's behavior all on him. :-) I offer to buy Aidan a candy bar or an ice cream cone if he will just give his talk. He says he doesn't want either. Then he comes up with a great idea - how about a new Lego set. Of course, he wants a more expensive and bigger bribe.
